Nancy Zicari-Infantino was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was just 25 years old. Smiling and resilient — even through treatment — she felt deep empathy for her fellow cancer patients who were struggling with the financial burdens of the disease on top of the strain of chemotherapy and radiation.
Dedicated to making an impact in her Rochester, New York community with what time she had left, she and her family founded Nancy & Friends Fighting Cancer in 2002. While she initially beat her cancer, it soon relapsed, and Nancy was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at 29. Sadly, at 32, cancer took Nancy from her husband, Dino, and their four young children: Michael, Ashley, Nicholas and Olivia. But her legacy of family, compassion, and care lives on through the foundation.
Nancy & Friends Fighting Cancer supports the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, Golisano Children’s Hospital, The Rochester Breast Cancer Coalition (who Nancy was a founding member of), and the James P. Wilmot Cancer Foundation. We have also directly assisted individuals struggling with medical expenses not covered by their insurance.
